Established in 2007, The FELLAS (Faith Eternal Love for
the Lord And Salvation) is a group of God-fearing men
who cherish family, faith, and community and who love
to play golf. The FELLAS Golf League is an innovative new
concept in golf league management. Unlike most golf
leagues, The FELLAS call no one course its home. Instead,
The FELLAS offer an 18-week regular “on-tour” season
where tee-times are scheduled weekly at nine (9) select
courses played twice, during an 18-week season (May-
August). A four-week, postseason tournament concludes
the season, where champions are crowned with a trophy and
cash.
To support our mission, The FELLAS sponsors a league
championship where proceeds are donated to
scholarship programs, regional food banks, city missions,
after-school programs, community organizations, cultural
awareness, and faith-based organizations.
The FELLAS also collaborate with local and state officials,
small business owners, educators, faith organizations,
and refugee communities to develop strategies that
advance their mission of service and support.
The FELLAS consider this ancient game a test of temper,
a trial of honor, a revealer of character. It affords the
chance to play the man and act the gentleman. It
includes companionship with friends and opportunities
for courtesy, kindness, and generosity to an opponent.
The FELLAS also recognize golf as a contest, a duel,
calling for skill, courage, and self-control, and
acknowledge that golf is also a science, “a sweet science.”
the study of a lifetime, in which you may exhaust
yourself, but never the subject. It means going out in
God’s outdoors, getting closer to nature, fresh air, and
exercise, a sweeping away of mental cobwebs, and
genuine recreation for tired tissues. It is a cure for care
and an antidote to worry.
Unlike traditional golf leagues that are anchored to a
single course, The FELLAS Golf League introduces a
dynamic, tour-style format. The league spans an 18-week
regular season (May-September) across nine (9)
premiere regional golf courses (each played twice)
followed by a four-week postseason tournament. Weekly
Tee times are scheduled to keep the competition fresh
and engaging.
During the season, League members are contacted each
Sunday afternoon, via text message, to announce the
course for the upcoming round. Members are
encouraged to schedule a tee-time (4some) that is
convenient for them. Tee-times may be scheduled during
the week and/or weekend, and are considered an official
round, as long as at least two members are playing
in the same set to attest the scorecard. If a member
needs support in filling their foursome, the League office
will assist in filling open spaces.
Once the round is complete, the signed scorecard should
be sent (via-photo-text) to the League Office (518-429-
6542) so that the League Leaderboard (click on
Leaderboard for current standings). Only one round is
considered an official round. If a member plans to play
more than once during the week, at the designated time
course, they must indicate, before teeing off, which
round is considered practice, and which round is
considered official.
